Meet Catherine Schifter, University Professor
How are you involved in education?
- I teach at Temple University in the College of Education and have overseen the technology courses for the teacher ed students for the last 10 years. I am a co-PI on a grant called SAVE Science (check out an old YouTube vid at www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LABZq4oMtw or our website at
www.savescience.us/), and I’m now studying the game Minecraft. Any MCers out there?
What’s your ideal classroom or school like?
- I want students. I’m not picky about the tools, but without the students the tools are not much interest. However, if money were no object, I would want tablets with 4G access and funds to purchase the really great apps for science, math, social studies, art, etc. to stimulate my students in different ways that typically afforded.
Have you ever attended an unconference before?
If you were to lead a session at EdCamp, what would it be about?
- Don’t know
Are you on Twitter?
