How are you involved in education?
I have been a teacher for 9 years, spending the last 5 at St. John’s Episcopal School in Olney, MD teaching general music. As of July 1, I will be the Lower School Technology Facilitator at Norwood School in Bethesda, MD!
What’s your ideal classroom or school like?
Teacher as facilitator. Students working collaboratively to solve problems and move beyond recall tasks. Flexible furniture in the workspace. Color. Bright, Natural light. Student created work. Books, books, more books. Fast wireless connection. Individual laptops that always work (:-) Walls filled with art. Engaged kids, passionate teachers. A strong sense of intellectual inquiry. A place of integrity.
