Meet Shannon Montague, Middle School Technology Integrator

If you’d like to be featured in our Meet the Edcampers series, fill out this form!

How are you involved in education?

  • I am a Middle School Technology Integrator for an independent school in Baltimore, MD.

What’s your ideal classroom or school like?

  • My ideal classroom is a space that is flexible. There would be tables, comfortable seating and also individual workstations to allow for a variety of tasks to be completed. Students would be able to access the broader world through their own, selected individual device(s). Teacher would have the collaborative tools- device(s) with the ability to connect and project to allow students to come together. The schedule would reflect an atmosphere of autonomy and collaboration, work as well as play. Balance and individual choice would be crucial. My secret love? Chalkboard paint! I’d love to cover a wall tomorrow!

Have you ever attended an unconference before?

  • PadCamp; EdCampSS

If you were to lead a session at EdCamp, what would it be about?

  • I’d love to have a conversation about the research behind introversion and how technology (or teaching strategies) can allow us to hear the voice of that student.

Do you have a website or blog?

Are you on Twitter?

What is your favorite digital tool?

  • It’s mean to make anyone pick just one!
