How are you involved in education?
I have been an elementary teacher since 1993 and have worked with children as young as four months to as old as 16. Currently I am a Kindergarten through Fifth Grade technology facilitator at the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. For the past thee years I have taught scheduled computer classes as well as worked with teachers on additional projects. We will be moving towards a more flexible schedule integrated approach in the fall. I am excited about this positive change.

What’s your ideal classroom or school like?
My ideal classroom is one that incorporates technology seamlessly into the day while students are engaged in meaningful, authentic, purposeful learning experiences. I envision classrooms with a lounge-like atmosphere that includes independent work areas, group work areas, comfortable seating and wireless connections.

Have you ever attended an unconference before?
Yes, I have attended Edcamp Philly and Edcamp NYC.

Do you have a website or blog?
I have two: one for teachers and one where I showcase my students’ work. http://www.learning-spaces.wikispaces.com and http://www.lower-school-lab.wikispaces.com

Are you on Twitter?
@teacherdebra

What is your favorite digital tool?
My students love Glogster, Animoto and Photo Peach. I love my Jing.
